Our Ministries

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Our Sunday school classes are designed primarily to build up believers and equip them for ministry, but are also a place where those who are not believers in Christ can come to learn more about the Bible and what it means to know Christ.

The following classes meet each Sunday morning at 9am.

Children ages 4 through 6th grade - our children learn systematically from the Generations of Grace curriculum

Youth Sunday school (for ages 12-18 or 7th-12th grade)

Adult Sunday School meets in the auditorium

Come join us at 9:00 on Sundays!

SMALL GROUPS

Small Groups are integral to the discipleship process of Crossway Bible Church. These groups exist to cultivate growth in our church through mutual instruction and encouragement as we learn and apply the truths of the word of God together.

Because of the more intimate setting that a small group can offer, it is our goal to see all families involved in one. Through these groups we strive to obey the many New Testament commands toward "one another" as we share in fellowship, prayer, singing, and instruction in the Scriptures. It is our eager desire that these groups would promote unity and sacrificial service among the body according to the truth of God's word. We encourage everyone to sign up for a group.

As Crossway Bible Church grows, we plan to add more meeting places throughout the week in order to accommodate all families. All small groups will work through the same material.

Sign up for a Small Group here.

MEN'S MINISTRY

Our men’s ministry focuses upon discipleship taking place at a number of different levels. Our goal is that men would come to salvation and would grow to reflect the character of Christ as they learn from, and are transformed by, his word.

Our goal is that every man in the church is involved in personal discipleship in some way. To this end, we encourage participation in interactive discipleship relationships throughout the week.

Shepherds Institute

Shepherds Institute exists to equip men in the church to be servant leaders with the necessary biblical, theological, and practical skills to teach and lead with excellence in the church and at home. This focus on biblical thinking, philosophy of ministry, and personal sanctification prepares men to better love Christ and His church. This ministry also serves as a formative step on the path toward elder qualification. For more information, please visit the Shepherds Institute website.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY

Our women’s ministry seeks to instruct women, to provide service opportunities, and to meet needs of women in the church according to their specific gifts. This is done through the formation of discipleship relationships and through various events and classes. For more information about how to get involved in our women’s ministry, please contact info@crosswayknoxville.org

YOUTH MINISTRY

Our Youth Ministry is intended to help believing youth to grow in Christ and to see unbelieving youth come to salvation through Jesus Christ, and to strengthen them in the faith in preparation to live a life that honors Jesus Christ.

We believe that the greatest need in youth ministry is for youth to know, believe, and obey the word of God. We desire for believing youth to begin serving in ministry immediately, making the most of their time and their youthful energy for the glory of Christ.

All students in Grades 6-12 are encouraged to participate in our youth ministry. We also eagerly welcome and encourage parental service and involvement.

Our youth meetings currently take place biweekly on Sunday evenings. For more information about our youth ministry, please contact us.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Our goal in Children's ministry is to assist parents in their God-given responsibility to bring up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). We desire to serve in this way through teaching of the word of God that is geared toward a child's specific age and level of understanding.

It is our hope and our constant prayer that the children in our ministry would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and that all of the parents of these children would also be saved and be strengthened in their faith by the ministry of the church.

To this end we offer children's Sunday school classes that teach through the Bible systematically. We intentionally train our teachers and equip them to lovingly and faithfully instruct the children from the word of God using faithful curriculum.

Finally, a nursery is available for children (newborn to 4 years old) during the Sunday morning worship service, and for ages newborn to 3 during all other services and class hours.

BIBLICAL COUNSELING

We are committed to counseling from the Scriptures as its sole source of authority. We believe that the Bible is sufficient to instruct and equip believers all that God desires them to do.

Our goal in counseling is “…admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.” (Colosians 1:28).

OUTREACH

The command given by Christ to his disciples after his resurrection was to "make disciples" of all nations.

Our first goal of church missions is to edify believers and proclaim Christ to unbelievers in our own community. We believe that being a strong local church is a requirement for being good sending church. Further, we believe that our immediate area is included in "all the nations" of Jesus' command to make disciples (Matthew 28:19).

As we are established and strengthened, we desire to send and support people with a similar theology and philosophy of biblical ministry in other areas of the world. This includes everything from local church planting and pastor-sending to international pastoral training and frontier missions.

Our desire in local outreach is to cultivate a "culture of evangelism." We desire to make gospel proclamation a part of who we are.

We desire to preach the gospel in every legitimate biblical way, both in our daily lives, and as a church in organized events. Further, we desire to support and to start other churches that will also carry out the tasks of the Great Commission, including evangelism.

If you are in need of counseling, please contact us.
